Just like that, we are very nearly ready to draw a close on our second and first-ever summer issue for Everytime Zine. It still feels surreal to even be working on Everytime Zine let alone finish another issue so it means a lot to us. We have loved every inch of this issue from the creatives that submitted, to the work and the incredible array of creativity we packed into it.

This issue certainly hasn't been easy, a lot of planning and preparation has gone into it to make it what it is and much like the last issue we wanted to share with you some of the things we've been watching this issue, listening to and the things we are grateful for.

 We were inspired by...

Everything related to summer.

This was our first ever summer issue, a season I'm always so in awe of so the desire to do that justice was huge. I plan a lot in advance for the theme of the issue and planning this one wasn't too hard given that I already have several inspiration boards for the summer season to give me a head start. Putting all the work together to sit as a body of work was exciting and nostalgic!

Listened to

Friendly Fires 'Inflouresent' on repeat. It's the perfect soundtrack to the summer which is why one of which features on our Endless Issue playlist coming this Friday.

Watched

A lot of Tarantino, I've become a bit hooked on his films at the moment if I'm honest after catching Once upon a time in Hollywood at the cinema. His films are so incredibly clever, a talking point for hours after watching.

I also finished Season 2 of Mindhunter. If you haven't watched Season 1 I urge you to do so it's had me drawn in from the very beginning from the way its filmed to the dark storylines and complex characters, it's one of my absolute favourites.

Procrastinated by

Thinking about the long endless summers we have cherished and the memories we hold deep in our hearts.

Was grateful for

Having this zine a part of my life. Having this space that creatives are welcomed to be a part of is so exciting. I love discovering creatives who's work I love, then being able to share it with others, it feels incredibly rewarding.

Drank

A lot of iced coffees. I'm a coffee drinker anyway so in the summer I welcome a lot of iced coffee. They are just so convenient and they taste so good. My go-to is always Vanilla Iced in the summer months.

Ate

An array of vegetarian stuff, I've really got into eating a lot less meat. I often find myself browsing along the vegetarian section in the search of new and exciting things I've never seen before. I currently have some avocado burgers to try and recently discovered vegetarian mac and cheese bites, SO GOOD.

Were sidetracked by

Anything and everything. I jump from task to task, so find myself doing one thing one minute then another the next. Lately, I've been falling down a youtube hole and get sidetracked for about half an hour.

We met

The gorgeous Scarlett Stevens who kindly modelled for the 'Wasting away the days' editorial. Scarlett is also a photographer, after spending a day with her I felt so inspired.

Was relieved that

We received enough submissions to make a new issue. You can set out thinking you'll get submissions from here, there and everywhere but sometimes it can be a slow process. Creatives are asked to work to a theme after all so we appreciate that it takes time for them to respond to the theme through words or imagery. This issue we loved how many written pieces we received.

Was most happy with

In all honesty, we are grateful for each and every piece we receive to be a part of the issue. But having creatives I've watched and admired from afar want to be a part of Everytime is so exciting for me. This issue I adored the editorial 'Midsummer Blues' that Moriah Ziman put together that eventually ended up being our front cover, I love her approach and style to her work, it was a pleasure to have her on board.

Learnt

No issue is easy to put together. I thought to myself we did the first issue that's the hardest part, right? Wrong. You never stop learning and overcoming obstacles when putting any issue together. This one was in some ways, more challenging than the first. Sometimes you just need a bit of patience and faith that it will work and eventually fall into place.
